Information

We then request you to provide us with an authorization letter allowing our attorney to appear at the Design registry on your behalf.
Documentation
We generate your Diary number from the Copyright registry using the information you submit and provide you with the application forms with further instructions.

Submission
Upon receiving your confirmation, we submit your application and generate the design application number. We also send all the relevant documents physically to the Design registry office in Kolkata for further processing.

First come first serve
When you register a design, the date of application holds the utmost importance while determining the grant of registration for two or more similar applications.

Validity
A design registration is valid for 10 years from the date of application if registered. In special cases a renewal of 5 years is given. A design is open for public use once the registration expires.
Time required for Registration
Depending on the queue of pending applications, it usually takes around 4 to 6 months to complete the registration of design, provided there are no discrepancies in the application. According to the Design Act, the design registry is required to process applications within 6 months from the date of filing.

Process of Copyright registration after your application is filed at the Registry
Once your Design Registration application has been successfully filed at the Registry it follows the below process to get Registered.
Your new application to register a design will be received at the registry and kept in queue for the first review, depending on the list of pending applications.
A first review of your application will be conducted and the design will be reviewed by the Examination officer.
An examination report will be generated, which will either request additional information and clarifications regarding trademarking a design or proceed to send the application for advertisement in the journal.
If your application requires more information or clarification to be submitted, we will file an examination report reply in order to help the application proceed smoothly for registration.
Once your application fulfills the necessary requirements, you can register a logo online, and it will be published in the Patent Journal.
